5 benefits of Windows 10 for your life

The Windows 10 Operating System is currently very common, however, most people cannot imagine how the trajectory was until the current version of the system, it was an evolution that began more than 30 years ago.

It brings back the “start” menu and more balance for PC and notebook users. Windows 10 has some cool features including the possibility to switch between traditional work mode (with keyboard and mouse) and tablet mode for hybrid computers such as Surface Pro 3 and other specific keyboards that can be used with touch screens among others.

As it is a continuous platform, what will happen from now on is that Microsoft will not have to release a different version every year, but will release updates more frequently in a shorter period, that is, there is a bug in the system? A new and updated version will be released, fixing the problem. Hardware badly used by the system? A new update is released. A major overhaul of the interface? A bigger patch is coming!

Also, this may be the last time we see the system sold in physical packaging. But why? First: after the upgrade, unless you buy a new copy of this version and install it on your PC, you will not be able to return to your previous Windows. Second: In this way, you will lose all applications saved in Windows 10 as the system has made special support available for this version. Check out what items were added and the benefits of having this new version.

New items added

Start menu: Being present in all Windows since version 95, the new version came to return with the start menu, which was not present in Windows 8.1. It is divided into two parts: on the right side we have the patterns that were seen in previous Windows, such as XP, Vista, and 7, and the organization is included in the list of programs, on the right is a simplified version of the Modern UI, which is very reminiscent of Windows Phone 8 tiles.

Virtual desktops: The best way to understand a virtual desktop is to assume that your computer has two monitors, but only one can be displayed at a time, and different windows open on each monitor. For example, you can open the browser and text on the screen, and then open the music player and notepad on the other screen to avoid visual clutter and access the program as needed.

However, it is worth mentioning that compared to the other two systems, virtual desktops are still in the early stages as they both have more advanced controls and customization options. This is only natural as they adopted virtual desktops a long time ago, thus improving features between versions.

Windows 10 is the latest version of Microsoft's operating system. When we say “last”, it means that we will no longer have numbered versions, such as Windows 7, 8, etc. What has happened is that the new Windows is being marketed as a service rather than software like previous products. Check out the 5 benefits of this new version.

1. Elegance in notifications

In Windows 8, Microsoft introduced an interesting but flawed notification system. It displays a warning in the small rectangular box at the top of the screen, but when the notification disappears, you will never see it again.

To prevent important notifications from going unnoticed by users, entrepreneur Redmond created an action center in Windows 10. In addition to providing quick access to system settings, the operations center also centralizes all notifications in one place, which means that you will no longer miss important messages and alerts such as security and maintenance settings that require your attention.

2. Cortana personal assistant

Cortana first appeared on Windows Phone, but Microsoft decided to plug it into its main operating system. This is one of the most anticipated features by Windows users, as it brings functions similar to Google Now and Siri to the desktop, where you can use your voice to perform searches on your PC. Daily email checks, Cortana can help Windows 10 users. In addition, you can also activate the “Hey Cortana” command to wake up the assistant like the famous “Ok Google”.

3. Start menu in different tastes

Generally speaking, the launch of the Windows 8 screen boot was a failure. It came as a quest to replace the start menu. It is the place where OS users open desktop apps and programs and check friends' updates, emails, app notifications, calendar appointments, and other operations.

In Windows 10, Microsoft's idea of enjoying the best of both worlds at the same time was to combine the "Start Screen" with the "Start" menu. The new operating system maintains the modern style of Windows 8 while bringing back the basic functions and familiarity of the Start menu. The new “Start” menu is colorful, resizable, and can be configured at the end.

But the most important thing is that you can choose other modes, that is, you don't have to stay on the old menu forever. This means that if you use a touchscreen device, or just use the Windows 8 splash screen, you can turn on tablet mode and have the tiles again.

4. Microsoft Edge

Due to improvements in Firefox and Chrome, Internet Explorer had problems and was forgotten about. The solution that Microsoft found to try to save your browser was to launch Microsoft Edge. As it is a completely new browser that is still under development, it currently lacks some features, so it may fall into the “taste” of internet users once and for all, such as the incognito mode with Centurylink internet, for example.

5. Windows Store

It is known that the Windows Store is not one of the great attractions in Windows 8.1, with people who have used the system for years without even realizing its existence. In Windows 10, however, the store will be unified across all platforms, thus receiving more attention from developers and gaining many new functions, including book and movie rentals. With this, it will not be necessary to look for alternative programs to watch your favorite series, obviously according to the partnerships signed by the company. You need to have a good connection, from Internet providers, to access the store.

Windows 10 has great usability

Although it is not the most recent version of the great Windows operating system, edition 10 does not disappoint and brings features that make navigability more practical and with greater access to information. The big challenge, for those who were used to versions before Windows 7, is the modifications on the desktop. But with a little effort, it all settles down and you discover everything Windows 10 has to offer.
